Helen Lee O'Neill a month agoWe did not have a good experience with our 2 year old's eczema issue at this office. The office and staff were all very friendly and prompt, but our daughter's skin issues were not addressed or properly diagnosed by the doctor. Our 2 yr old has severe eczema, and when we attended the appointment and explained all our actions/attempts to date, we were immediately recommended to proceed with Dupixent. The doctor never examined her actual skin or requested to remove any clothes and the actual appointment was maybe 5 minutes long. When we proceeded to look into Dupixent independently, it appears there are restrictions around administering the medication around a child's vaccine schedule and should not be given when there is upcoming live vaccinations. Our daughter was almost 2 and due for her 2 yr old vaccines soon. This was not mentioned to us during the office visit. When I called the office to clarify if we could proceed with Dupixent, or wait until after her 2 yr old vaccinations, they called back and let me know that there was no issue proceeding with Dupixent if she was getting the flu shot (which wasn't my question at all). We went ahead and visited another doctor soon after, who quickly diagnosed antibiotics for a skin infection, which was missed at Dr. Hassler's office, likely because they never really examined her skin. Her skin improved immediately after antibiotics. The other doctor also proceeded to provide different options, including Dupixent, with all the information upfront about timing surrounding her vaccine schedule. Our other doctor also requested lab work done to rule out other potential sources before starting Dupixent, and felt like they actually examined her before jumping to conclusions. Everyone at the office was very friendly and prompt and we enjoyed the actual visit, but it felt like the actual medical work was rushed and not properly evaluated.
Karla Avila 8 months agoI chose this dermatologist office mainly for its convenience, and overall it’s been a pleasant experience. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and the office runs very efficiently. My only feedback would be for Doctor Hassler’s bedside manner. During my visits, I felt a bit rushed and not fully heard. While my concerns were minor, I still value a little more time and conversation to feel confident about my care. I recently spoke with another patient who shared a similar experience, so I thought it was worth mentioning. That said, the office seems to have a strong focus on cosmetic dermatology, which may be perfect for some patients. I just wish there were a bit more balance with general dermatology care as well.
The Houston Maven a month agoI’ve come here for a couple of years now for annual skin checks. Compared to prior dermatologists, Dr Hessler has a much more pragmatic calm approach which I very much appreciate. Clean well kept office too.
Jason Whyte 3 weeks agoDr. Hassler is simply excellent. Very helpful and caring. The office staff is really friendly, organized, and efficient. Highly recommended.
Ebony Hicks 3 months agoIf you are African American do NOT go here. I went in for a visit for my dark spots. I had mild scars very mild. The Dr did not look at my skin, she didn’t examine skin NOTHING. I let her know that I have eczema. She prescribed me Tretinoin & Spironolactone as well. I used the once a week, then twice a week. She didn’t give me directions on how to use the cream nor how to add it in my current skin care routine. About 3-4 weeks later I called into the office to let her know the cream had burned my skin & I’ve become darker. I asked if she could prescribe me hydrocortisone cream to help with the irritation, she scheduled me in to come to her to charge me $120 for the visit, when she could have just sent the prescription to my local pharmacy as requested. I just want to say my skin has become worse since I’ve seen her & I believe she doesn’t know how to take care of black skin.
