I normally do not leave reviews, but my experience with Anna Chacon was so upsetting and unprofessional that I feel obligated to share it publicly so other patients can make informed decisions. I visited this office regarding what appeared to be a skin infection/folliculitis around my buttocks area after returning from a trip abroad. Without performing ANY laboratory testing, swabs, cultures, or blood work, Dr. Chacon immediately concluded that I had herpes and prescribed medication accordingly. What disturbed me most was not only the premature diagnosis, but also the way I was treated during the consultation. Instead of approaching the situation objectively and professionally, she repeatedly implied that I was hiding sexual activity with men and suggested I was too “timid” to admit the truth. I clearly explained multiple times that I am heterosexual, engaged to a woman, and had never engaged in the type of activity she was suggesting. Despite that, I felt dismissed, stereotyped, and judged instead of listened to as a patient. The entire interaction came across as arrogant, condescending, and lacking empathy. I left feeling humiliated, emotionally distressed, and deeply uncomfortable. Because I did not trust the diagnosis, I sought multiple additional medical opinions afterward, including a sexual health clinic and another provider in Miami. Multiple professionals independently told me the condition did NOT appear to be herpes and was much more consistent with folliculitis/infection. I also underwent STI/STD testing, which reportedly came back negative. The fact that medication was prescribed for a serious condition without proper confirmation is extremely concerning to me as a patient. No one should be subjected to that level of fear, stress, and emotional distress based on assumptions instead of evidence based testing. I originally paid for the consultation in person. However, after receiving additional medical opinions and believing the care I received was negligent and unprofessional, I disputed the charge with my bank and sent a detailed email explaining my concerns. In that email, I clearly explained the emotional distress, embarrassment, and anxiety this experience caused me, as well as my disagreement with the diagnosis and treatment approach. I never received any meaningful response addressing my concerns as a patient. Instead, the disputed balance was reportedly sent to collections, which I believe unfairly impacted my credit and created additional stress on top of an already disturbing medical experience. To me, that response demonstrated a greater focus on recovering payment than resolving a serious patient complaint professionally and responsibly. Based on my personal experience, I believe this doctor’s reputation is heavily overhyped compared to the actual level of professionalism, empathy, and medical care I received. Patients deserve respect, proper testing, careful evaluation, and evidence based treatment, not assumptions, stereotyping, premature diagnoses, and dismissive behavior. I strongly encourage anyone seeking dermatological care to get a second opinion before accepting any serious diagnosis from this office.

Dr. Chacon & her staff are truly the best. Easy to schedule, great follow through, and she ALWAYS responds to any questions VERY quickly! We are so glad we chose the virtual route and grateful that led us to Dr. Chacon! Our son’s skin is a night and day difference. We’re so appreciative.

I recently saw Dr. Ana Chacon for a cyst removal on my forehead, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received. From the initial consultation through the procedure, she was incredibly professional and informative. She took the time to explain the process step-by-step, which really helped me understand what to expect and put my mind at ease. What I appreciated most was her responsiveness; she was very helpful in answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns promptly. It is rare to find a doctor who is both a skilled surgeon and so dedicated to patient communication. I highly recommend her for anyone seeking thorough and expert dermatological care. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a top tier dermatologist.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the bedside manner presented by Dr. Chacon all of the appointments I have attended. I let it pass the first time because sometimes we have times where we aren’t 100%. But at this point… if I’m paying over $200 for an appointment something needs to be said. The first appointment my son was there as I had no other choice… he was being a 4 year old and playing with a chair in the corner, I was telling him to stop and for the most part he did but occasionally would play with it again making noises. This for whatever reason set off Dr. Chacon causing her to awkwardly pause and attempt to reprimand my son herself. You can tell in her face she was steaming up inside… The whole ordeal made my son feel uncomfortable to the point where he said afterward in the car “she is not a nice lady.” I was there for concerns about my hair loss… it was said to be because of how I have my hair pulled back for work (I’m a cop and need my hair tied back for officer safety purposes). At first I asked if there’s other styles or ways I can pin it back and she said no… understandable I guess because it needs to be off my shoulders and any style would have it being pulled back or upward. Instead of reassuring me the hair would grow back, get better or ANY sort of advice or positivity she kept repeating “cut your hair or quit your job.” This phrase was said by Dr. Chacon MULTIPLE times through out the appointment and it was painfully awkward. Cut your hair or quit your job… like… what…? I signed up for a career to protect others and be in situations where I put myself in potential danger if it means to save someone’s life. And I’m just being told “cut your hair or quit your job” and “do an administrative role (in the department).” I’m not asking to be coddled, but I would just expect a more from such an intelligent doctor. Instead I was just met with dismissiveness and rudeness. There’s a million dermatologists in South Florida, so I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to stand out and/or go above and beyond in your service… Now as for the second appointment. Not any better… Dr. Chacon made eye contact with me once or twice the entire time. She was typing away on her laptop as I was speaking, trying to have conversation. I felt awkward. I was so excited to speak about my hair growth and progress, which she didn’t even care to ask about or even look at it. I had to personally pull my own hair back and tell her to look like a kid begging for attention. I did mention I made a mistake and stopped taking one of the meds she gave me, which slowed the progress but still had progress and admitted my fault. Luckily I am moving out of Miami and I’ll to find a new derm regardless. I hate to write bad reviews on a business… but I just felt so uncomfortable both times to the point where I wanted to write this.

I had a 15 minute follow up online appointment and was double charged!! The office denied this double charge multiple times, and then admitted to the duplicate charge weeks later. At my 2nd follow up appointment, a credit was to be applied from previously being charged duplicately. Her staff never showed up; I waited 20 minutes past the start time. The duplicate charge was to prepay for this 2nd follow up appointment. I made another appointment for the next night to wait AGAIN well past the start time. Dr Chacon scolded the office staff to be more aware of the schedule and preview the times and offered a messaging appointment for the next session. 2 months later I am being sent a bill for the appointment when her office no showed on me. Stay away, the billing and waiting will cost you more than you initially agree to!!
