I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hashemi and her office staff. My three year old son has been experiencing severe eczema and skin issues since he was 3 months old. Our pediatrician referred us to University Skin Institute and we have been welcomed and treated with so much care and kindness since. I’ve also been seen here and love the thoughtful process that takes place. Dr. Hashemi listens to you and really hears your concerns. I 100% recommend University Skin Institute for your dermatology needs! Also: major shout out to staff who make my son feel comforted and cared for during all of his visits. We feel so grateful for you!

Dr. Pantea Hashemi has been my Dermatologist for over six years. During this time, I have appreciated her knowledge, skill and attention given to me as a patient. During my encounters with her, she was never rushed and answered all of my questions. I always feel she is totally in the moment to address my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Hashemi if you are looking for a dermatologist. Also, the Assistants and staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

My primary concerns relate to billing practices, payment security, and poor quality of care. I was charged incorrectly for appointments despite my insurance being on file. Because there is a fee for credit card use, I paid with a debit card and explicitly asked that it not be retained on file. Despite this, my card information was kept, and I later received an unexpected charge on a day when I had not visited the office in over two months. When I contacted the office to request a reversal, the issue was not handled with urgency or clear communication. In addition, my experience with the medical care was disappointing. After multiple visits with Dr. Hashemi, I did not feel the root cause of my condition was adequately addressed. On more than one occasion, students were involved in my visits without prior notice or consent, including examining my skin without the doctor present. Although I declined, I felt pressured to proceed for educational purposes. There was also a strong emphasis on purchasing the doctor’s product line, with limited explanation for the recommendations. I was additionally prescribed a very expensive medication, and when I asked about its purpose, staff were unable to clearly explain how it related to my condition. Due to concerns with billing accuracy, payment handling, communication, ethics, and quality of care, I would not recommend this dermatologist

Dr. Hashemi is that rare gem of a doctor: She is extremely intelligent and focused, very professional but also has a wonderful bedside manner. Very authentically caring, she doesn't waste words or time, but you never feel rushed. On several occasions I have had emergency issues which she has found time to make a slot for me to come in to see her the day of. She never complains and is always open and curious. Another special thing about Dr, Hashemi is that you never feel pressured. I have had aggressive dermatologists in the past, and doctors who clearly wanted to dive Into procedures/money making ventures. I have never felt this even remotely...if anything, it feels like she is someone who really wants what is best for you, and allows you to decide what is best for you! I hope everyone can have the experience I have had, and I know that all of her patients, myself included, are extremely lucky to have her as a doctor. Please don't ever retire!
