I had a bad experience at this clinic. The initial issue I had was a billing matter. I received two treatments from them, but for some reason, the second treatment was nearly twice as much as the first. I called their office to get some sort of explanation. The explanation I was given didn’t make much sense to me. The initial person I spoke with seemed a bit unsure as to why the second treatment was so much more expensive, so she told me that she had to look into it more and get back to me. I called the office again a few days later and spoke to someone else who worked in their office. She gave me a completely different explanation from the first individual that I spoke with, and I was no less confused after speaking with their second rep. She eventually told me that she was just relaying the notes that had been left in my file by their manager. So, I asked if I could speak with her manager directly to get a more detailed explanation. I was connected to the manager, and I believe her name was Ronnie. The first thing that Ronnie said to me when she got on the phone was something along the lines of “I’m just going to tell you the same thing that the last person told you.” I found this initial greeting to be unnecessary and a bit condescending. She was the third person I spoke with at their office who attempted to explain to me why my second bill was so high, and her explanation was no less vague, inconsistent, and confusing than the other two. I think what I found most annoying about the entire situation, though, was her attitude. She seemed very blasé and disinterested in rectifying the problem. It didn't even seem like she was taking the situation very seriously. In any event, I ultimately paid the bill, but my experience in dealing with their office/billing staff was far from satisfactory. They just seemed a bit sloppy and unprofessional to me. I won’t be going back.

I actually look forward to my 2x per year visits to Arboretum Dermatology. Dr. Berger is simply a delight - fun, curious, efficient and thorough. If something needs doing, she asks and acts, and also clearly explains. And the staff is wonderful in every possible way - friendly, accommodating and always thinking of what will work for me.

I have been seeing Rebecca for years. I think she is a very caring and capable practitioner. Any and all procedures I have done at Arboretum Dermatology have turned out for the best. I highly recommend them. Even the office staff is extremely helpful.

I’m working through my 70s. I was just fine with all my wrinkles. Yet, my skin looked dead like a corpse. Zero shine to it , zero glow. I got the CO2 treatment. I am absolutely blown away by it. Dr. Carmen and all of staff were absolutely amazing. Dr. Carmen full of all information and direct about it all. She is now one of my favorite people in this whole wide world. She listens, she cares and she delivers. I’m just about two weeks out. Fine lines gone. Skin is glowing and looks fresh.

Inhad a frustrating experience with both billing and care at this clinic. After a biopsy, I unexpectedly received a collections notice from a third party lab. At no point was I informed that an outside lab would be used or that billing would be handled separately. When I called for clarification, I was told I should have read the paperwork I signed and was directed to resolve the issue on my own with the lab. There was no assistance offered, and the billing process felt vague and unclear. I also felt the care I received was not very thorough. During one visit, the PA recommended Accutane and seemed to downplay the risks. When I expressed concerns about potential side effects, I was told it is not as serious as people believe and that existing studies are outdated. This raised concerns for me. Previously, I had seen a dermatologist at Duke Medical who evaluated my skin and told me Accutane would likely not be effective for my type of acne, which is hormonal. Instead, that doctor prescribed a different medication that has worked very well for me, and I have been on it for over six years with life changing results. I understand that medical opinions can differ, but the contrast in guidance and the casual approach to a strong medication made me uneasy. If you are considering this clinic, I recommend asking in advance whether any services such as lab work are outsourced, clarifying who handles billing and what costs to expect, and seeking a second opinion before starting any major treatment. This clinic may work for some people, but based on my experience with billing issues and the level of care, I would suggest doing additional research before committing.
