I have been going to this practice for over 35 years and my doctor retired. The nurses and front desk staff is very caring, and helpful and concerned. However, I was referred to Dr. Beck after my doctor retired and first I had to wait for almost a year to see her, and that was understandable because they lost a doctor, but since then have had last minute cancellation with her (day of) while I was suffering a serious skin infection. I get that too, but Dr. Beck doesn't seem to care about patients and doesn't want them to have a say in their own care. She believes because she is the "doctor", that she knows all and she doesn't want to hear anything else, even if her way doesn't work. I went to see her today, and actually thought things were going well (I usually bring up my old doctor but felt she didn't like that, so I made sure I didn't even think of him today.) toward the end she started to say that she wanted me to know that she will not be treating the skin disorder the way my old doctor did and if I didn't trust her that this wasn't going to work. It was as if she came in the room with the intent to have that conversation. I will admit, I do miss Dr. Harr and he was the most wonderful doctor ever. But she seems to be intimidated by that fact. She may be a doctor with a degree but she does not provide care. I felt she had no concern for me, nor any concern to combat the disease I was dealing with. At one point I even said, "I am not feeling well" and she didn't even address that statement. My disorder is a skin disease that gets infected with serious bacterial infections. When she said "if you don't trust me this isn't gonna work (While using very strong hand gestures back-and-forth toward me and her), I didn't want to continue to argue with her so I just said, "you're absolutely right" and walked out. As I was walking out I heard her say "I'm the doctor". At that point I realized that's the problem, because I am 100% sure that all the staff and patients in that office knew that she was the doctor and if you feel the need to announce it, I'm definitely better off not having you as my doctor. I hope this review will be used to bring growth to her. And to Dr. Beck. It's okay to allow patients an opinion in their care.

My entire family attends this practice. Dr. Harr (who is retiring) has seen my husband, and myself and my two children see Dr. Beck. We literally never wait more than a minute or two, and we have had wonderful experiences with multiple providers. Any negative experiences are always met with follow-up and rectification (and those are rare). Front desk (appointments, billing) staff are efficient, professional, and kind. Pricing is also very competitive here (we are self-pay). They get prescriptions in quickly, address every question and allow patients to push and advocate for themselves and engage in actual conversation about their care. Love this practice.

Had a great experience here and so did my husband. Appointments are booked out way in advance but it seems like that’s the case everywhere in VB for dermatology so might as well get it on the schedule with this group. If you have something pressing, you can ask to be put on their cancellation list to call if someone cancels. Doctors were very nice, thorough and listened to all my concerns. Only downside is you have to pay your bill by phone or mail as they don’t have an online option. Highly recommend.

Showed up on time the first visit and Dr Beck spent no more than 5 minutes with me discussing my situation and gave me some prescriptions and basically kicked me out the door. Came back the second time after Dr Beck said when I get another outbreak to just come in. Well that didn't happen I needed eean appointment and had to wait when I called and said I need to come in that I was having another bad outbreak. They gave me an appointment five days later. I suffered till then and my skin got way worse as the infection spread. When I showed up five minutes late the check in little girl said you're late and asked me if I realized this. RUDE! I said yes I have a watch and realize that I'm 5 minutes late driving from 2 hours away. She rolled her eyes and said let me ask the Doctor. She then told me Dr Beck could see me in another week or later that day when I had another Dr appointment. Really? She only saw me last time for 5 minutes total. I told that child secretary she can tell Dr Beck not to bother as I would rather go to see someone who is more professional and compassionate with their patients. Seems to be a trickle down affect in the staff as well. Shame on Dr Beck and Dermatology Inc.

This place is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. My husband had an appointment scheduled for today at 3:15. We were attempting to arrive early, as I know most new patient appointments will have paperwork to fill out. We got caught in traffic, and arrived exactly at the appointment time. The doctor refused to see him, and said he’d need to wait until one of her other patients didn’t show up or reschedule. When we scheduled this appointment (mind you we had to wait 2 months to be seen) and received confirmation, we were not once informed that it was a requirement to be seen to arrive 15 minutes early. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand patients arriving late and messing up the schedule. But to be told it was our fault when that requirement was absolutely not communicated is wildly unprofessional. We will be scheduling elsewhere.
