Doug L a month agoDr. Thrash and his staff at US Dermatology Partners OakLawn work seamlessly and efficiently to ensure the patient experience is stress-free. Pre-visit on-line check is encouraged, any co-pays and deductibles can be paid in advance, and check-in takes less than a minute. Wait time has always been less than 5 minutes before I am taken to an exam room, vitals are taken, and the reason for the appointment is reveiwed by the doctor's medical assistant. Dr. Thrash spends time listening to the issue while examining you and explaining any care or actions that need to be taken, alternative processes, and answers any questions. Some treatments can be provided while you're other, others may require scheduling additional visits. Dr. Thrash is friendly, approachable, casual, and relaxed. I never felt rushed. His staff mimics Dr. Thrash; they are patient, kind and judgement free. The results of requested labs are discussed over a phone call as soon as they are available. I highly recommend anyone needing a dermatologist to make an appointment to see Dr. Thrash. He has a great reputation and is in high demand, so there may be a bit of a wait for a non-urgent visit.Well worth the the wait to finding a doctor you can fully trust.
Leslie Ramirez 2 weeks agoTara Beeler Hall is excellent! Fast, efficient and listened to my concerns! She was quick to help me and get what I wanted! Will absolutely be coming back!
Kayla Jones a month agoI scheduled an appointment with James McCarty, MD because I saw great reviews online, they accepted my insurance, and I was hopeful about finally getting help with my skin. As a new patient, this was one of the most disappointing medical experiences I've ever had. I came in for concerns related to hormonal acne and the marks left behind from breakouts. My skin was clear throughout high school, and when I was on birth control, I had very few breakouts. My acne became significantly worse after coming off birth control, which is why I sought professional help. During the appointment, Dr. McCarty told me he had "worked with people like me before" and stated that what I was seeing was inflamed pigment and that it was basically just my skin and wasn't going away. I tried to explain my history and why I believed my skin changes were related to hormonal acne, but the conversation quickly became uncomfortable. He then began making comments about my generation not listening to doctors and seemed to assume what I was thinking based on my facial expressions, even though I was sitting quietly and listening. I was not arguing, being disrespectful, or refusing treatment. The appointment ended with him telling me that he would no longer treat me and that I needed to find a dermatologist I trust. I left feeling dismissed, judged, and completely caught off guard. If I had known this would be my experience as a new patient, I would have chosen a different provider. I understand that every patient and doctor may not be the right fit, but I believe patients deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially when they are seeking help for concerns that affect their confidence and quality of life.
Megan Cowan a month agoDr. Thrash is wonderful! After my aunt had a melanoma I promised I’d go to the dermatologist. I went to one dermatologist twice for annual skin checks. She gave me a light glance and saw nothing both times. After moving I began seeing Dr. Thrash because I was told by a coworker that he is very thorough. In 3 visits Dr. Thrash has found 2 pre-melanomas and removed them both for me with very little scarring. Everyone in his office is helpful, informative, and supportive. Strongly recommend Dr. Thrash and his whole team!
