I've been very pleased with Dr. Shackelford over the years, as she is good about explaining the diagnoses and treatments. I like that they have their own radiation room, and I was glad to be a candidate for that for one of my skin cancers.

Dr. Shackleford has been an excellent dermatologist for both my father, many friends, and myself for many years. The wait times for new patients is now one year. She is worth the wait. Her nurse and the front desk are also friendly.

First, the wait time for a new patient appointment was 4 months. I received an email and confirmed my appointment and made a login for the patient portal per the email’s request. I received a text reminder also of my appointment time. When I arrived a few minutes before my appointment, I was told I should have arrived 20 minutes prior to fill out paperwork. They refused to see me. No where in any correspondence was I told to arrive 20 minutes early. If they told me when scheduling, that was FOUR MONTHS ago! When trying to reschedule, again, their next appointment was 4 months from now. No, thank you. Furthermore, the receptionist’s mask wasn’t even covering her mouth…during a pandemic. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect or turned down for an appointment I was on time for. I work in the medical field and understand that paperwork takes time, but you HAVE to communicate that expectation. I even looked beforehand on the portal for the paperwork and it wasn’t online. Very disappointed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Dr. Shackleford and her nurses have provided excellent and compassionate care, for many years, for my 94 year old mother and me. Beginning with their receptionist, our visits are timely, competent, and personal.

I struggle to give even one star, my 92 yo grandmother had several areas of concern. When our nurse caregiver took her to the visit, not only the nurse, but dr the as well were condescending toward her did not allow our nurse advocate to stay with my demented grandmother! I was absolutely Appalled when I got report. My grandmother is not of sound mind to make decisions or report areas of concern. My grandmother expressed multiple times her discomfort and this wasn’t addressed.
